The Mathematics of Victory

With our 2-2 draw against Bodmin Town the other night, we think we may have won our first division title.

Why the confusion on whether we have or not, well let us explain…

The league table (once the scores have been ratified by the CCFA) should put us four points clear with one game remaining…

“But what about Bodmin’s two games remaining?” we hear you cry.

It transpires that the Bodmin- Lanivet game was declared void. Whilst no official indication had been given as to why, we understand that Bodmin fielded an ineligible player and apparently the two teams agreed to declare the game void. We believe there is no intention for the game to be replayed and if that is the case then Bodmin cement second place and qualification for the League Cup Semi final without being able to over take Saints.

Due to the FA’s official league system having routine maintenance, we don’t expect to hear anything official until Friday. Either way a victory over Laninvet in the last game of the league season would definitely see us crowned division champions, but seeing as we have never beaten them in three years of trying AND with our managers brother in law playing for them AND them most certainly being our bogey team (a title we know they relish) a little clarification would be nice.

Lets see what the next few days bring…
